Most of the assets registered by Mexico in the World Heritage list fit under the heading: Historical Cultural Heritage.
It is comprised of historical centers, perimeters and remains of ancient cities, where the civil and religious layout contained in each of them, such is the case of Mexico City and Xochimilco, Oaxaca, Puebla, Guanajuato, Morelia, Zacatecas, Querétaro, Tlacotalpan and Campeche.
Several monuments and other includible architectural structures with great historical and artistic meaning are also represented, such as the Hospicio Cabañas, the Franciscan convents from the XVI century and the missions in the Sierra Gorda in the state of Querétaro.
