Mexico accepted the World Heritage Convention in February, 1984 and has inscribed 27 sites to-date, thus becoming the country with the most World Heritage Sites in the Americas, and ranks 7th worldwide. Here is the list of sites in Mexico that have been inscribed to the World Heritage List:

ABOUT UNESCO HERITAGE CONVENTION
In 1972 the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) established the convention for the protection of the cultural and natural legacies of the world.
The World Heritage Convention motivate and support governments in the establishment of the sites’ management plans and conservation and fosters local involvement and international collaboration for the preservation and conservation of the World’s Cultural and Natural Heritage.
The World Heritage Site list currently spans 851 sites in 141 countries.
